This itinerary is part of  the route called Anello Azzurro (the Light Blue Ring, a walking route around Orta Lake), inside the project Girolago. The route is marked with stakes and signs. More information can be found on www.girolago.it or www.lagodorta.net

Route

Start from the forum in Omegna and reach the lake side following the direction of the locality Bagnella walking along Via Antonio Gramsci.

Keep the left in Via Fratelli Rosselli and when you arrive at the roundabout, turn right till you reach the Church of San Bernardino from Siena, then turn left following the passage 1 Maggio and then again left in the direction of Via Fucine.

At the end of Via Fucine, turn left into via Erbera, go past the last houses of Bagnella, continue on the dirt road and just after the green bridge, turn right going up into the wood in the narrow path which takes you to Brolo, Via Berlinguer.

Cross the provincial road and take Via Lavatoio uphill, after that turn left again and reach the Church of St. Antonio Abate.

Walk down again from Via Colonia and cross again the road and take Via Bruno Rutto: after a short time the road becomes a path and walking down into the wood it takes you to the hamlet of Oira, in the nearness of Via Gobo.

Oira

Walk along the tarmac till you reach the Church of St. Silvestro of Oira and turn right going up the steep road which brings to Nonio. After walking some metres uphill, reach another church room: it is the Church room of Madonna della Neve, in the locality Valbai.

Just next to the church room, take the path of the Anello Azzurro. Go over the bridge and go up into the wood. At the fork, keep left and go straight on in the direction of the hamlet of Ronco Superiore.

Isola di S.Giulio

At the tarmac fork near the houses, keep left, go down till you reach the Church room of Natività di Maria Santissima.

From here the path gets into a steep mule track that in a short time brings you near the hamlet of Ronco Inferiore, in the nearness of a small graveyard. Now turn right, walk along the tarmac, and go towards the village of Pella, your arrival point.

Isola di S.Giulio
