Church of San Rocco

Church of San Rocco

The majestic Parish Church dedicated to San Rocco stands in an elevated position.

The original construction dates back to 1566, perhaps to the remains of a pre-existing chapel, but was extended starting from 1627 to a design by the architect Richini, a disciple of Tibaldi. The current facade was instead built in 1933 by the architect Nigra using Alzo white granite and Oira stone.

The Latin cross interior preserves numerous Baroque works of exquisite workmanship. One cannot fail to admire the paintings executed by artists such as Bonola, Cantalupi, Procaccini and Zanatta, as well as examples of works in wrought iron and choir, an excellent example of wood inlay.

Next to the parish church stands the imaginative Baroque Ossuary of the Razzini family, protected by a beautiful wrought iron railing enclosing frescoes by Cantalupi that represent the biblical episode of Tobia.
