Compared to the Classic itinerary, the book published by Terre di Mezzo (in Italian language) suggests to start from Peschiera del Garda and to divide the tour into twelve stages.

This is to make it easier to reach the starting point, and to have shorter stages.

The book not only describes the itinerary in detail, but also offers a large compendium of additional information:

• In the initial 25 pages, the general characteristics of the tour and the territory are described, and important indications and advice are given regarding preparation and travel;

• In the pages dedicated to the individual stages, in addition to a map and description of the route, there is useful information, including public transport and accommodation, and indications on places and things to see. In addition, there are in-depth information and inserts regarding several topics; see the cards at the bottom.
